This morning I updated the Egress page changing the exit paths to 3 instead of 6. I will add additional paths as time goes on, but it will start with 3. The 3 paths have maps. However, they still need unique content and media. Right now they all have the content and media from the path.
Today I upgraded the Map builder. I added the ability to add and remove walls with a mouse key click, rebuilding the compass, and cleaned up the saving and loading of maps. Modifying any map is much easier now.
Today I upgraded the Map builder. I added the ability to add and remove encounters with a mouse key click. Clear encounters. I also added Save and Load via UI features.
I added a very unique map and encounters to the black path. I will work on content and media another day, I am thinking black beard pirates!
The code for all of the paths is complete, and now I am ready to work on the content of the paths. I used the red path as a template, so now I just need to create new maps, content and media.
I realized that triggers were good for clip events like walking over a map or an encounter, but something needed to handle broader actions like the end of the game and pausing, resuming. If you pull agro, the game will pause and update the story cards for example.
I found a zombie avatar generator which I used to build out the first draft images for the red path story cards. At some point in the future, the images can and will be updated to a more consistent art style.
This morning I worked on the story cards, as well as the aggro and encounter trigger cards for the red path.
This morning I added player-initiated encounter clipping triggers. At this point, we have story triggers, aggro triggers, and now player clipping triggers.
This morning I worked on a bug with the trigger events. The encounters were being stored twice and causing double trigger events.
This morning I worked on trigger events resuming on keypress. This is working very well. Red path is almost done, just another day or two I imagine.
Today I worked on adding a maze minigame to the end of the Maze episode 1. I am adding the logic for story card triggers to interact with encounters and progress the story.
