Lottery time

A lottery ticket and newspapers from the future arrive at your door in a box. The newspaper says that the winning numbers are the ones on the ticket and that no one has won. Can you change the future, and turn in this ticket? Or are the items cursed? If the future can be changed then the numbers may not be real. If you can not change the future then nothing you do will change the fact that no one wins, even though you have the winning ticket.
