The Library

Idea

A man wakes up inside a library. He does not know how he got there. Time does not seem to pass in the library, nor does he need to sleep, eat, or drink. There is a door marked with an exit sign that leads out of this bizarre library. Sketched into the door is the warning “If you leave the library you can never ever return to the library.” The man confused, decides to learn skills while in the library. Spending decades mastering these skills he believes that he has learned all that he needs to learn to make all of his dreams come true back in the real world. After he leaves the Library he realizes that no time has passed at all. His time in the library lasted for him what seemed like decades, but for everyone else was instantaneous. He begins to use the skills that he had mastered to set his path more profitable. After about a week, he gets grim news from his wife. She is dying of cancer. He could have found a way to save her in the library. He then uses his new skills and fortune to figure out to get someone else into the library to save his wife.
