Jude the Tanner?
As I write chapter 2 and try to introduce the next main character Jude, I find his current profession unappealing. I think that he needs to go in a different direction. but what career should he have?
He could be training to be a doctor or nurse, under his mother Rebecca.
Advantages
I could introduce Rebecca
This could make Rebecca less important to the end game, as Jude is also trained. However, he is not likely to the point in his training where he would be as useful as her.
He could use his medical training in the field as a field medic.
While he is out hunting, he could be searching for medical supplies \ herbs.
It would make sense that Rebecca would want to school her children in medicine.
Disadvantages
It is not a creative profession (one in which a person creates something), and would not entirely fit Jude’s initial driving motivation to stay and rebuild.

As I am writing chapter 2 I recognize there are some issues with Sanctuary. The security of this town does not make sense and I have a plan to fix this.
Introducing Jude, one of our main characters. He is the son of Nathan and Rebecca and brother to Eden.

I go over some points that I was able to introduce in chapter 2’s first draft during week 1 of writing.
Introducing Oliver, the butcher. He receives meat from Jude and prepares it for the towns folk.
To make things better fall in line for the end of the story I am changing Rebecca to be a doctor.
