Bug: Outline

Act 1

Chapter 1

• Eden is scouting a nearby town for food and water

• She is attacked by Marauders

• She ambushes the marauders and almost escapes.

Chapter 2 [Bug in]

• We flashback 6 years

• Jude, Eden’s brother, is introduced as the new main character

• We see Eden and Jude interact with their dad

• A new species of insect was discovered

Chapter 3 [Bug Out]

• We introduce a new MC

• These new micro insects are very hard to kill

  • they can not be killed by boiling or chemical

  • they are parasitic to humans and cause disease-like symptoms

• The MC is preparing bug out to a remote location

  • checking the BOBs

  • packing the BOV

• The MC communicates with other members of their bug out group

• The MC travels to the BOL QTH

Chapter 4 [Bug In]

• Jude and Eden go-to store for emergency supplies

• Swarms of these micro insects have spread across the globe

• Panic has begun and people are buying supplies to fill their pantries

• Food shortages begin

Chapter 5 [Bug out]

• MC has completed the road trip to the BOL QTH

• MC is the first to arrive and is preparing the QTH for the others

• MC receives communications that some of the members traveling can’t make it

  • roadblocks, riots, violence, traffic accidents

Chapter 5 [Bug in]

• The riots have made the surrounding area dangerous

• The stores are empty, and no more trucks are coming

• Nathan, Rebecca, Jude, and Eden secure their home

• They prepare for the next few weeks of home defense and living on supplies they have on hand

  • An armed break-in attempt to steal food

  • The internal conflict between family members on the use of force to protect supplies

Chapter 6 [Bug out]

• Several of the members are MIA

• Several of the members have the sickness and are dying

• The super bloom has begun

  • vegetation is growing at an accelerated rate

  • the overall insect population is beginning to increase

• A swarm of normal insects attacks the compound

  • bees, wasps, crickets, spiders, mosquitos

Chapter 7 [Bug In]

• The surviving neighbors ban together to form sanctuary

• The family helps their neighbors to fortify the neighborhood

• Nathan is one of the first scouts to leave the sanctuary

Act 2

• Back to the present, 6 years after the end

• Jude leaves the sanctuary to find Eden

• Jude finds the drone

• Eden is transported to the marauder camp

• Nathan discovers that the sanctuary has been found

• Nathan begins to set the two factions against each other

• The BOL QTH is in desperate need of medical help

• over the years the insects have gotten larger

• large nearly giant insects now swarm the area

• many of the members have been injured, and some have died from easily treatable symptoms

• The MC is scouting for a doctor making their way to the sanctuary

  • The MC has military experience fighting the insects

Act 3

• Nathan rescues Jude and Eden

• Nathan is killed as they escape

• Mysteriously Nathan’s killer is killed by a sniper

• Jude and Eden help to fortify the sanctuary

• Dearil follows them revealing a breach in the defenses at the sanctuary.

• Amidst the chaos of battle, Dearil ambushes them

• Dearil reveals that he was the sniper that saved the children earlier so that he could kill them himself

• Eden outsmarts Dearil and kills him just before he kills them all

  • I like the idea of using insects as a weapon to kill him
