Jude desperately wants to rebuild society. While the end of the world was tragic, the survivors have a great opportunity to rebuild a better society. He is hopeful and optimistic. He strongly believes that in order for human civilization to return to civilized behavior they need to go back to work. Providing goods and services that everyone needs.
